Tachihara started dedicating his whole life in reproducing the authentic ukiyo-e prints such as reviving ukiyo-e art by using the same materials and ultimately developing his craft in the Edo era. Without having any resources in regards to methods in Ukiyo-e making, he spent the next thirty five years developing his own methods through trial and error, carefully studying the original print, and travelling all over Japan in search for the right materials. Tachihara was finally able to reproduce “Ōatari Kyōgen” with his skills in culminating his artistic, scientific and technical findings which took him two and half years. In 2014, thirty eight newspaper articles were written about his great achievements.
